There’s something so special about wedding days that are steeped in tradition, family, and culture. Sonia and Ludlow’s wedding in Manassas, Virginia was just that—an unforgettable celebration of love that beautifully combined their Jamaican heritage with the charm of Virginia.

Hiba and Nick’s wedding day was a beautiful reflection of their multicultural love story, set against the vibrant backdrop of Washington DC.

As a wedding photographer, I often get asked the same questions by clients. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions:

Scarlett and Joey were married at the National Aquarium surrounded by amazing sea creatures, love, and laughter. Get ready for a celebration that’s as unique as it gets! This Baltimore wedding was everything fun and sentimental.

Maggie and Rich were married at the Silk Mill. This blog post captures the charming moments of their wedding day, from the historic venue to heartfelt vows. Get inspired by their joyous celebration and discover tips for your own dream wedding.

I’m so excited to share with you all about Rebecca and Thomas’ absolutely stunning fall wedding at 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church, Virginia.

Sophie and Kamal were married at St John Evangelist Catholic Church in Clinton, Maryland surrounded by close family and friends. They are planning to have a larger Haitian wedding later!

I had the wonderful experience of photographing Arland and Avanti’s Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm Wedding in Ashburn, Virginia.

Arland and Avanti decided on Clydes in Ashburn as the perfect venue for their intimate celebration. Surrounded by only their closest family and friends, a total of 10 guests, they exchanged vows in a small and personal ceremony. It was a joyful and emotional event. Arland and Avanti are planning to have a big wedding in India someday, but did not want to wait another day without being married to one another. Instead of going to India, they worked with industry talent from all over Northern Virginia to create a truly special event that honored Indian heritage and also the quirkiness of their relationship. Clydes’ Willow Creek’s patio was the perfect backdrop for their outdoor wedding, officiant Jeff of Wedding Ceremonies by Jeff drafted a completely custom wedding ceremony that honored all of their important pieces, and Oliva of Twin Brook Floral Design created a ceremony arch and bouquet that tied all vendor efforts together with summer blooms and petals. Right after the ceremony, Arland and Avanti Facetimed Avanti’s grandmother in India before sitting down to celebrate over lunch and champagne.

As a photographer, it was an honor for me to capture the beauty and intimacy of Arland and Avanti’s special day. Small weddings like theirs in Virginia offer a unique charm, allowing couples to focus on the love and connection they share with their closest circle. Clydes in Ashburn provided the perfect backdrop for this intimate ceremony, creating an atmosphere of warmth and love.

If you’re considering a small wedding, whether it be in Virginia or elsewhere, remember that it can be a wonderful choice. The intimacy of a smaller gathering allows for more meaningful moments and a chance to truly savor the love and joy of the day. Whether you choose a venue like Clydes in Ashburn or a different location, an intimate ceremony with your closest ones can be just as memorable and beautiful as a larger affair.

So, if you’re thinking about a small wedding in Virginia, keep in mind the enchanting possibilities it offers. It can be just as beautiful and memorable as this Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm Wedding. The intimacy and love that fill the air during a ceremony with a limited number of guests can create a truly magical experience. Clydes in Ashburn, in particular, is an excellent choice for an intimate wedding that will leave lasting memories. Whether you decide to have a small wedding in Virginia or choose a different location, embrace the beauty of an intimate celebration – because love knows no bounds, no matter the size of the guest list.

Recently, I had the pleasure of capturing a beautiful wedding at the historic Dar Constitution Hall in Washington, DC. It was a truly memorable celebration. The couple chose this iconic venue for their black-tie wedding, and I couldn’t have been more excited to be a part of it.

The grandeur of the hall, with its exquisite architecture and rich history, added a sense of grandeur to the ceremony and reception. Eleanor was a vision in her elegant white gown, and Patrick was dashing in his tuxedo. It was clear that every detail had been carefully thought out to create a truly unforgettable experience.

There were so many moments of joy, love, and happiness. From the excitement of Eleanor getting ready, to the heartfelt vows exchanged during the ceremony, every emotion was beautifully documented. The couple’s love for each other radiated in every photograph, creating a lasting memory of their special day.

One of the highlights of the day was the reception, held in the hall’s breathtaking ballroom. The room was adorned with elegant décor, including stunning floral arrangements and sparkling chandeliers. It was a truly magical space, filled with laughter, music, and dancing. I made sure to capture every special moment, from the first dance to the heartfelt toasts. As a photographer, I feel incredibly grateful to have been a part of this DAR wedding. Katherine and Erwin’s garden wedding in Middleburg, Virginia was beautiful at Briar Patch Bed and Breakfast. As a photographer, I had the pleasure of capturing their special day and all the lovely moments that unfolded. The day began with Katherine and her close friends getting ready in the cozy cottage, while Erwin dressed in the Main House. The anticipation was high as they prepared for the big moment. The ceremony took place on the hill at the back of the property with breathtaking views of the mountains and sunny skies. It was quite the sight with bright and colorful florals and blooms adorning the surroundings. It was the perfect backdrop for their vows.

What made this wedding even more unique was the incorporation of meaningful traditions and the blending of American and French heritage. It added a truly personal touch to the celebration, making it all the more special. As the day progressed, I couldn’t help but notice how the colors really popped in every photograph. The floral dresses were stunning with all of their vibrant hues, adding to the overall beauty of the occasion. It was a truly vibrant wedding both in terms of the colors and the atmosphere.

One of the highlights of photographing a garden wedding in Virginia is capturing sunset photos. We were fortunate enough to witness the most gorgeous sunset, casting a warm and romantic glow with all the lush greenery and flowers. As the night wore on, the dancefloor came alive with laughter and joy. It was a celebration of love and happiness, with everyone coming together to celebrate Katherine and Erwin’s union.

Katherine and Erwin’s garden wedding in Virginia at the Briar Patch Bed and Breakfast was truly a day to remember. The combination of natural beauty, meaningful tradition, and vibrant colors made it a wedding like no other. As a photographer, it was an honor to be a part of their special day and capture memories that will last a lifetime. Congratulations again, Katherine and Erwin!

Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful La Vie DC wedding at the Wharf. The day started off at Hotel Washington, where Jade and her lovely bridesmaids prepared for the big day. With the help of her mom and sister, Jade stepped into her stunning wedding dress, filled with excitement.

We wanted to capture the essence of Washington D.C’s timelessness, so we all made our way to the famous monuments for some photos. It wouldn’t be a La Vie DC wedding if we didn’t take advantage of the grandeur and beautiful architecture of the monuments. The groom and his groomsmen headed to the iconic Lincoln Memorial, while Jade and her bridesmaids chose the picturesque Jefferson monument as their backdrop. It was a perfect setting to capture the love and joy in the air.

Our next stop was La Vie, where the wedding ceremony took place. The venue was absolutely breathtaking, adding an extra touch of elegance to the celebration. Jade and Aric’s love for each other was palpable, and it filled the room with warmth and happiness. Witnessing their love was truly a privilege.

After the ceremony, a delightful brunch reception awaited everyone. As we all know, there’s nothing quite like enjoying waffles at a wedding! It was a unique and delicious touch that made this wedding unforgettable. As a photographer, I am always thrilled to capture the beautiful moments that unfold during weddings. The Washington DC backdrop, the La Vie venue, and the portraits taken at the Jefferson and Lincoln memorials added a touch of grandeur to Jade and Aric’s special day. I feel honored to have been a part of their love story and to capture their memories for them to cherish forever.

If you’re planning a Washington DC wedding, I highly recommend considering these iconic locations for your portraits. The beauty and history they exude make for stunning photographs that will truly stand the test of time.

Kristen and Harry’s decision to have a Washington DC elopement comes from the beginning of their relationship. Kristen and Harry’s love story began in the beautiful city of Paris. They met while studying abroad, as Harry came all the way from London and Kristen from Georgia. It was fate that brought them together through a mutual friend who planned a fun pub night. Their first date was a memorable one. After meeting at an Irish pub, they discovered their shared love for museums with stunning architecture, so they decided to visit the Musee de Jacquemart Andre. It was the perfect way to start their journey together. But the evening didn’t end there. Harry wanted to make it special, so he took Kristen to the top of the iconic Arc de Triomphe. Unfortunately, the weather took an unexpected turn as freezing rain started pouring down. However, instead of dampening their spirits, it turned into a hilarious moment. Kristen couldn’t stop laughing when she noticed fluff from Harry’s sweater sticking to his face. It was a genuine, belly-aching laugh that they both shared. They sought shelter from the rain at a cozy wine bar, where they talked for hours about their lives, dreams, and families. It felt like a rom-com movie, and it was in that moment that Kristen knew she had strong feelings for Harry.

Since that night, Kristen and Harry have been inseparable. They strongly believe that destiny brought them together. They have talked every day, and their bond continues to grow. As they started planning their wedding, they both agreed on one thing – they wanted it to be special and timeless. That’s why they chose the beautiful Jefferson Hotel for their Washington DC elopement. The hotel’s historic ambiance perfectly reflected their love and the history they were creating together.

The day of their wedding was filled with many emotions. During their First Look in the hotel lobby, their love for each other was so evident it caught the attention of passersby.

They then had chosen the perfect location for their portraits around DC. The city’s stunning architecture and landmarks provided a picturesque backdrop for both playful and posed moments. One of the highlights was capturing them playing a game of mini tag by the reflecting pool.

Their love story continues to unfold, and the photos from this day serve as a reminder of their incredible journey together. Kristen and Harry are proof that true love exists and that when you find it, even in the middle of a crazy city like Paris, you hold onto it tightly.

Raymond and Elizabeth’s Stonewall Golf Club wedding day was filled with beauty and love. The day started off with an array of stunning details, all beautifully captured on a Lindale Studios custom backdrop. Liz got ready in the bridal suite at Stonewall Golf Club, while vendors worked hard to prepare the ceremony and reception spaces.Meanwhile, Ray and his groomsmen were getting ready at a separate location. Once everyone was ready, we headed out onto the picturesque golf course for some photos with the bridesmaids. We made sure to capture the joyful moments as they posed against the backdrop of the golf course. Then, when the groomsmen arrived, we switched to their portraits on the golf course.

Raymond and Elizabeth decided not to have a First Look, so for their ceremony they were filled with anticipation and excitement to see each other. Their love and devotion to one another were evident as they exchanged heartwarming vows, creating a truly memorable ceremony. After the ceremony, the celebration continued with a cocktail hour, followed by a reception held inside Stonewall Golf Club. The atmosphere was filled with joy and laughter as family and friends gathered to celebrate the newlyweds. The venue provided the perfect backdrop for this special occasion.

As the night went on, the dancefloor became the center of attention. Everyone joined in, dancing and singing, creating unforgettable memories. The breathtaking views of the golf course, combined with the professionalism of the venue, ensured that each moment was beautifully captured.

Raymond and Elizabeth’s wedding day will forever be remembered as a spectacular celebration of their love. The bride and groom, along with their bridal party, were able to enjoy the stunning scenery of the golf course while creating lasting memories. Whether you’re planning a spring wedding, a golf club wedding, or a wedding in Virginia, the Stonewall Golf Club provides the perfect setting for a day filled with love, laughter, and pure joy.

Lauren and Patrick’s Top of the Town wedding was absolutely beautiful. It had a timeless and classic feel that was truly special. Lauren got ready at the cozy Residence Inn in Ballston, while Patrick prepared for the big day at the elegant Westin hotel. The two of them later came together for a breathtaking ceremony at the Top of the Town venue in Arlington.

The ceremony was stunning with white and blue flowers adorning the space. They added a touch of elegance and really enhanced the overall atmosphere. After the ceremony, we had the opportunity to capture some amazing portraits of the couple in different locations around Arlington. The pictures turned out to be absolutely stunning.

When we returned to the Top of the Town, it was time for the evening reception. The atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement as guests mingled and danced the night away on the dancefloor. It was truly a magical and unforgettable evening. One of the highlights of the wedding was the breathtaking view from the Top of the Town rooftop. Overlooking the city and even the Pentagon, it provided a stunning backdrop for some unforgettable wedding photos. The couple looked absolutely radiant against the mesmerizing skyline. In addition to the beautiful florals, another unique touch at the wedding was the seashell decorations. They added a whimsical and romantic feel to the overall aesthetic. It was a beautiful way to incorporate something borrowed and something blue into the wedding theme.

Lauren and Patrick’s wedding was truly a celebration of love and timeless beauty. It was an honor to capture their special day at the Top of the Town in Arlington. The photos perfectly captured the essence of their love and the stunning surroundings.

Have you ever wondered what makes a wedding “classic” and “timeless”? Is it the elegant attire, the traditional wedding rituals, or the picturesque setting? Perhaps it’s a little bit of everything. And I was fortunate enough to capture all of these elements in a recent Silk Mill wedding in Fredericksburg, Virginia: the wedding of Chelsea and Nick.

Even in the midst of all the modern-day trends and fads, there’s something about a traditional wedding that just feels right. From the white dress to the exchanging of rings, it’s a testament to the enduring power of love. As a photographer, it’s my job to capture these moments of beauty and emotion. It’s the reason why I love what I do. And it’s why I’ll always treasure weddings like this one at the Silk Mill, where elegance and tradition collided to create a truly unforgettable day. The bride is wearing a Suzanne Neville wedding gown for the most gorgeous, classic and timeless look. The wedding party showed up and out with an array of blue hued dresses and black tuxes. Bright blue and purple blooms by Ssblooms set the stage for a traditional ceremony followed by a charming evening reception. For their portraits, we headed to Chatham Manor where a DOWNPOUR unfolded. It was wet, wild, and we were still able to get the BEST PHOTOS. One of my favorite shots is of Chelsea and Nick strolling hand-in-hand through the grounds of Chatham Manor, a plantation house built more than 250 years ago, with an umbrella in hand. The timeless beauty of the manor served as the perfect backdrop for this classic wedding.

Then we headed back to the Silk Mill for their reception. Whether it’s the first dance, the speeches, or just the joy on the couple’s faces, I believe in capturing every moment and making it last forever. And that’s what classic and timeless wedding photography is all about – capturing the essence of the day and immortalizing it in photographs. So if you’re planning a wedding, consider a classic and timeless theme. It’s the kind of wedding that your children and grandchildren will look at decades from now and still be in awe of its beauty and elegance.

As the day came to an end, I was left with a collection of beautiful photographs that captured the essence of the day. The photographs told a story of love, intimacy, and the timeless nature of the wedding. I felt truly blessed to have been a part of this Virginia wedding and to have captured this wedding day.

This wedding was one of my favorite Briar Patch Bed and Breakfast Wedding’s and I am thrilled to share it with you! Briar Patch Bed and Breakfast Inn is one of the most beautiful venues in Middleburg, Virginia. It is the perfect mix of cozy, historic, and elegant. The day started with Laura getting ready in the Cottage with her bridesmaids, while Daniel got ready in the Chicken Coop. The two opted for a First Look in a shady spot by the pool. After their First Look, we took lots of bride and groom photos before heading in for the ceremony. There were a lot of special things that made their ceremony unique: Laura’s mom sang, they read vows, and at the end they did the handshake like the one in the Parent Trap. Friends and family traveled from near and far to witness their commitment to one another, and it was beautiful to see.

For the reception, Laura and Daniel opted for a classic blue linen with gold accents. The chavarria chairs really brought out the gold accents in the middle of the tables. During the cocktail hour cast gathered on the rooftop as well as in the front lawn and enjoyed appetizers and drinks as well as played lawn games. During the cocktail hour we also took beautiful family portrait in front of the fireplace, and headed out to the counselor to join the rest of the party. After that we headed in for the reception where DJ Craig got the party started with introductions followed by dinner followed by more photos at sunset. What I love about weddings in Middleburg is that there’s always a gorgeous view of the sunset, since I sent Briar Patch a really beautiful because you can head out onto the patio and get a direct view of the sun light! After sunset photos everyone headed back in and enjoy the evening of dancing, laughter, speeches, toast, cake cutting, and even the lip-sync battle. It was an honor to be a part of this wedding, congratulations on your beautiful wedding Laura and Daniel and your even more beautiful marriage.

Kat and Shane were married in their backyard in Sterling, Virginia. Read about how their love stood strong in the face of a little weather surprise. Get ideas for your own celebration with this beautifully simple and heartwarming wedding story.

Of all the places to take photos in DC, these The Line Hotel DC wedding photos are some of the best. Joyce and Kevin had the most classic, traditional, and timeless of events for their intimate wedding ceremony and reception at the Line. Joyce and Kevin actually met at a programming boot camp in 2017 and bonded over bubble tea. After becoming friends, Joyce asked Kevin out for bubble tea (naturally). Three months later, Kevin asked Joyce out officially  in December 2017 and they have been together ever since. After some time discussing marriage, Joyce decided to ask Kevin if he wanted to get married, and Kevin said yes. Joyce picked out a ring that Kevin bought, making the engagement official.

Their wedding day started with great weather as Joyce got ready in the rooftop suite of the Line Hotel. What makes the Line Hotel one of the best places to get getting ready photos at is the light in the rooms. No matter where you are in any of the rooms, there is an ample amount of light. That coupled with the fact that all of the walls have neutral backgrounds, makes for the perfect setting for timeless looks and great skin tones. I also love how this particular suite at the Line had views of the city from the roof, and was easily accessible. Once Joyce finished putting her traditional wedding dress on, we headed to the Line’s rooftop for her First Look with Kevin. It was the most special of moments followed by lots of portraits all around the Line Hotel, we were also able to get a few photos with the iconic mirror staircase too. After their first look they had their ceremony surrounded by close friends and family, followed by a dinner reception in their suite where they played games and friends and family shared heartfelt thoughts and stories about Joyce and Kevin over wine. Joyce and Kevin’s love is one that inspires, and these photos will forever bring back the special day we celebrated that exact love.

Elma and John’s Herrington on the Bay Wedding Photos are almost as beautiful as their love for one another. Elma and John actually met playing basketball for college. They went to the same nursing school, and for their first date they decided to meet up after a separately attending a couple of parties. John ask Elma if she as up for going to the beach on a late night adventure, and at 3am they hopped on hopped on a ferry to cross the island and went to a beautiful beach and went stargazing by the shore. Then they went to the waterfalls, drank a bottle of beer and shortly after sunrise went for a dip in the falls with their party clothes on! Fast forward to today and John and Elma are both nurses, when they are not working they like to watch movies, go on roadtrips, eat out, try different coffee/boba places. The beach is important to them, and so they chose the most perfect venue. They just had the most beautiful, timeless and classic of weddings on the beach at Herrington on the Bay.

The day started with Elma getting ready at an airbnb nearby Herrington on the Bay, the Airbnb had the most gorgeous of sunlight and I would recommend it to anyone getting married anywhere nearby. We started with Elma getting her hair and makeup done upstairs in the room with a little bit of quiet time to herself, while I photographed her details in a separate room and got a few candids. John was at a seperate hotel with him mom and groomsmen also getting ready. We all met at Herrington and headed out onto the beach for the most tear jerking of First Looks to date. Elma walked up to John in the sand and he turned around and they shared the most special of moments. We walked on the shore for a bit and took a lot of portraits. What is great about taking photos at Herrington on the Bay is that no matter what time of day, the light is great because of the water reflecting nearby. There was a bit of overcast but the rain held out for their portraits and their ceremony. After their First Look, we were able to get lots of bridal party photos on the beach and then got ready for their ceremony. Their ceremony was gorgeous, followed by an enough more gorgeous reception. The reception decor had lots of height which photographed beautifully and the color scheme made for the most timeless of Herrington on the Bay wedding photos too. One of the best parts of Elma and John’s reception were the heartfelt speeches by many friends and family members that spoke about their love and connection. The night ended with a downpour thunderstorm outside, and all smiles and packed dance floor inside.

Kerri and Joe’s Briar Patch Bed and Breakfast Wedding was such a special day. It all started with Kerri and her bridesmaids getting ready in the cottage at Briar Patch. The girls were eating snacks, and getting their hair and makeup done all while listening to music and having a great time. Joe and the groomsmen were outside nearby also hanging out. We spent some time getting some candids of them in their spaces, before Kerri got into her beautiful wedding dress and then we headed out to the front lawn under the tree for their First Look.

Their First Look was completely private which made for the most special part of their wedding day. Joe cried when he saw Kerri, and they are some of the best photos. After their private moment at their First Look we walked around getting a lot of variety of portraits of them, before inviting the bridal party out to join them. Their bridal party photos were followed by the most heartfelt of ceremonies and receptions to date. What is special about this wedding is that Kerri and Joe rescheduled their date many times due to COVID. And when the day finally came, it was worth all the waiting. When I asked Kerri and Joe what they like to do for fun, they told me they both love tacos, hiking, and long drives. Joe enjoys mountain climbing and swimming, and Kerri is a full-time nerd who studies ears all day long. They also shared with me their favorite things about one another: Joe’s favorite thing about Kerri is her constant support and her compassion for her profession. Kerri’s favorite thing about Joe is his patience and his genuine compassion for others.

Their wedding ended with a packed dance floor full of laughs and way too much fun! It was a night and love story I will cherish forever, congratulations to you, Kerri and Joe.

Virginia and Coy’s Magnolia’s at the Mill Wedding was such a special day of love. The day started with Virginia and her bridesmaids getting ready in an Airbnb in Purcellville, right across the street from Trinity Church. The girls got their make up and hair done before taking pictures upstairs in one of the bedrooms. After all the girls are ready we headed over to the church for Virginia and Cori’s private first wok followed by beautiful portraits. Even though we had a little bit of rain we were still able to get the best photos and the overcast ended up making for the best lighting. We had a very relaxed time on that allowed us to get all of the bridal party photos and Bride and Graham portraits done before the ceremony, and then we were able to get even more bride and groom photos after the ceremony before heading to Magnolia’s at the Mill.

Coy and Virginia met for their first date last May at a coffee shop in Alexandria, Virginia—just a few minutes away from George Washington’s Mount Vernon estate. They walked to a small park, and enjoyed coffee and conversation in what seemed like a random gazebo. If you know Coy and Virginia, you won’t be surprised that they talked about crypto and Zimbabwe. In short, it seemed like a smashing success! However, Coy had to cut it off after an hour and a half to volunteer at church, and Virginia wondered if he was making up an excuse to leave…especially after he mentioned that he would “be out of town for a few weeks.” Any such doubts were quickly erased as Coy proved to be an excellent date-planner and Virginia was quickly swept off her feet. They fell in love while enjoying an Italian dinner in Dupont Circle, strolling around DC’s Tidal Basin, exploring Mount Vernon (during the great Cicada emerging of 2021), and visiting nearby Hunt Country. Most importantly, they fell in love through sharing their faith.

Their ceremony at Trinity Church was very intimate and candle lit, which made for the most romantic of settings. Magnolia’s at the Mill has a great upstairs reception area, which Virginia and Coy’s wedding planner, John, totally transformed into a colorful candlelit evening dinner. Their reception was filled with the most heartfelt of speeches from family and friends. The night ended with Virginia and Coy actually doing a bubble exit outside the front of Magnolia’s and it made for the best goodbye.

Veronica and Nayke’s DC War Memorial wedding was such a beautiful day. They had the most precious of ceremonies gathered by a small group of family and friends at the DC War Memorial. We started with a small ceremony at 8am, as Veronica and Nayke had big plans to go out for pancakes and mimosas right after. The ceremony started with Veronica and her parents walking down the path to the DC War Memorial. Veronica also wore her mother’s wedding dress. What I love about the DC War Memorial is that no matter what time of day you come, the lighting is great because of the reflection from the water across the street and the reflection of the white columns. This great even lighting makes for the best skin tones, it is usually my first recommendation if you are looking for a small place to elope. What also makes DC War Memorial weddings great is that there are lots of steps that help for big family photos.

After their ceremony we took family photos followed by bride and groom portraits. For Veronica and Nayke’s portraits we walked over to the water even found a couple of willow trees for backdrops. Fall is also the best time of year for using trees for backdrops, and it turned out to be so beautiful. The day ended with Veronica and Nayke’s small private stroll back to their families.

Kara and Nathan’s Susannah’s Watch B&B Wedding was such a gorgeous summer day. The day started with Kara getting ready upstairs in the bridal suite with her bridesmaids, while Nathan was downstairs with all his groomsmen in one of the many rooms. What is great about Susannah’s Watch getting ready rooms is the amount of light coming in from every room. First we took candids of the groomsmen all getting their black tie tuxedos on, and then we headed upstairs as Kara was wrapping up hair and makeup. As soon as Kara was in her dress, we headed outside for the sweetest First Look under the biggest tree on the property.

At the First Look, Kara and Nathan decided to read letter’s to each other. I love how Susannah’s Watch B&B has so many nooks and areas to take photos, which allowed for a completely private and uninterrupted time together to read to one another. Followed by the First Look, we did lots of bridal party photos and bride and groom portraits just in time for the ceremony.

The ceremony was in the perfect spot for this summer wedding, right in front of the vineyards. As soon as Kara and Nathan were married we actually were able to go into the Lavender field for photos at sunset and down to the water nearby for even more photos! Their reception was filled with the most heartfelt of speeches from family and friends. The night ended under their gorgeous tent with lots of dancing and the most perfect summer breeze coming through the tent from the water.

Julie and Brad’s Fairmont DC wedding is one I am so excited to bring to the portfolio. Julie and Brad started the day getting ready at the exquisite Fairmont in the heart of Washington DC. Julie had her hair and makeup done and had a relaxing, quaint morning with a close friend, the perfect calm and intimate environment before a big evening. As. Julie was getting ready, it actually started to snow, and we headed onto the balcony for some portraits of her in the snow. As soon as Julie and Brad were ready, we headed out to the church for a traditional Catholic ceremony.

Julie and Brad exited the church with ribbon streamers surrounding them, and we all headed to back to Fairmont. The reception was ready with the most classic and timeless colors, and florals to complement. The cocktail hour was in the hall by the lobby, where guests enjoyed wine and hors d’oeuvres before heading in to find their seat for dinner. Julie and Brad had the most special entrance, followed by dinner service and the most emotional speeches. After the speeches, they shared their First Dance followed by two parent dances and the dance floor opened up. One of the best things about Fairmont is the shape of the reception banquet hall, and the fact that the dance floor is actually in the center of the room and elevated. This allows for guests who do not want to dance to still feel a part of the space and event, and close by. Many guests including Julie’s grandmother sat and watched those dancing while enjoying coffee. We ended the night with Julie and Brad cutting their cake, and dancing away on the dance floor.

Olivia and Nick’s Great Marsh Estate wedding was one of the most special weddings to date! The day started with Olivia getting ready in the bridal suite upstairs, where she got her hair and make up done surrounded by all her bridesmaids. Nick was in the basement getting ready with all the groomsmen, putting on tuxedos, and drinking their special drink of the day. As soon as they were ready we did a first look with the bridesmaids, followed by a first look with Olivia and her dad. Then we went outside for Brad and Olivia’s first look to the left of the ceremony site by the hedges.

Once we did the first look and their portraits we headed out to the gravel road for the bridal party photos and lots of candids. The theme of this wedding was super colorful and playful. For the ceremony and reception, Olivia and Nick hired live music and a live band. The ceremony was in on the line right outside great marsh estate and then they had a cocktail hour in front of the estate. After cocktail hour we are headed to the barn for a candle lit and light blue and pink pastel colored reception. The reception started with the bridal party entrance followed by the first dance and then a lot of speeches. One of the best things about Great Marsh Estate is the barn size, Olivia and Nick had an entire head table and still had plenty of room for all of their guests. It is also very easy for all guests to see the person speaking from anywhere in the reception space.

After all the speeches Olivia and Nick started their dinner service and then also had some fun snacks and desserts outside on the patio along with a fire pit. They ended the night with the lights dimmed and everyone on the dance floor dancing and singing along to the live band.

Ana and and Chris’s Oxon Hill Manor Wedding is one I am so excited to share with you! Earlier this year I posted a bit about their love story and their unique DC engagement photos at Jack Rose, so if you haven’t already, make sure to check it out. They had their engagement session indoors at a cozy and chic bar in DC, a place they love to go! I love when couples pick a location that is sentimental and meaningful to them, it makes the photos that much more special! For their day at Oxon Hill Manor, every detail had so much thought and all the work was worth it!

We started the day actually at an AirBNB in Old Town Alexandria, where Ana and the bridesmaids got their hair and makeup done. I was able to find a great amount of light upstairs for Ana’s detail photos! We then headed to Oxon Hill where the groomsmen got ready in the groomsmen suite, and the girls headed to the bridal suite to continue getting ready. I was able to spend a lot of time with each of them because we had made such a relaxed timeline together, and I’m so glad we did. Ana and Chris shared their First Look in a private setting in the garden, as the violinist practiced and prepared for the ceremony. Their portraits right after was definitely my favorite part of their wedding day, we lucked out with just the amount of shade and sun for those perfect, creamy skin tones. Ana and Chris photograph so well together, and are naturals in front of the camera. The bridal party then joined us for photos and then we all got ready for the ceremony. What I actually love about Oxon Hill Manor’s ceremony setting is that there is a long aisle for a long entrance. This makes for so much opportunity for photos! I love that the backdrop of the ceremony is rather simplistic and minimal, that draws the eye to Ana and Chris. They went on to have the best reception and sparkler exit! OH, and they also had an afterparty at MGM!

Tess and Austin’s King Family Vineyards wedding in Charlottesville, Virginia is one I will cherish for the rest of my career. Tess and I actually originally connected on Instagram, where she found my website and reached out to me and we scheduled a call. From the moment we joined the call, I knew I wanted to be part of this special day they were planning.

We started the day with Tess actually getting ready at her parent’s house, which is just down the road from King. All the girls were hanging out and getting their hair and makeup done while drinking mimosa’s and playing music. It was a relaxing and peaceful morning, and their hair looked SO. GOOD. From there we all went over to King for Tess to put her dress on -only the girls traveled by limo :). One of my favorite photos from this day is actually Tess walking outside of her house in her bridal PJs. When we got to King, Austin and the groomsmen were hanging out in the grooms suite, while the girls went into the bridal suite. We got set up for 3 First Looks: one with the bridesmaids, one with Tess’s dad, and of course, the last for Tess and Austin. Their First Look was private with all of their family watching from the windows :). It was one of my favorites for sure. What made this day amazing I should mention is how thoughtful planned out Tess and Austin planned their timeline. We had plenty of time and I was able to get the best photos because the day was planned entirely around light, and we never felt rushed. The ceremony followed by a few family and bridal party photos, and a wonderful reception. Their reception was FUN with so many things to do! Tess and Austin even booked a donut truck, had a backdrop, a DJ, as well as a s’mores station outside and open bar. The guests were all having a blast and there were so many unique things to do all evening. Tess and Austin opted no to do an exit and to stay on the dance floor which was so fun, so we closed the night with getting a few photos with them at the donut truck -and that might be my new favorite way to recommend you end your wedding! 🙂

Briana and Jon’s West Manor Estate wedding in Forest, Virginia was one I am so excited to share with you! I actually first met Bri and Jon at James Madison University where they ran the Swing Dance Club. I was a freshman looking to join new clubs and came out to meet people and get to know the campus, I remember being in awe the first time I saw them dance together as a demo. Their chemistry was undeniable and captured the room so effortlessly. Fast forward a few years and we all graduated, and they got engaged and planned their wedding to take place at West Manor Estate in Forest, Virginia.

West Manor Estate Wedding in Forest, Virginia

It all begin with Bri and her girls getting their hair done in the Bridal Suite. The Bridal Suite at West Manor Estate was definitely the highlight of the property! It looks like a salon with tuns of mirrors and most importantly, tons of window light. The space allowed me to get lots of photos of the girls candidly getting ready. Jon got ready in the guys room, where they had their own gathering and music and food, too! Bri and Jon opted not to do a First Look, and it made for all the more meaningful entrance for Bri. Jon cried and was captured by Bri’s grace and elegance walking down the aisle -we all were. Once they were married, we took family photos followed by bridal party photos. What I loved about this wedding was each part of the day was photographed in a different space, even the bridal party and family photos. This made for a lot of variety in their final wedding gallery. Jon and Brittany had the funniest experience struggling to cut their cake, I’m not sure what happened there but they were laughing hysterically! Of course, the part that is forever in my heart is their First Dance, which was part a slow dance and… that’s right, a swing dance.

Chelsea and Ryan’s Brittland Manor wedding was one of my favorites to date and I am so excited to share it with you!  The day started with Chelsea getting ready in the bridal suite, and Ryan getting ready in the waterfront house at the end of the property. All the girls in the bridal party and family got their makeup done on the first floor, and then headed up to one of the beautiful rooms at the Estates to get dressed in. One thing I loved the most about this wedding day was that Chelsea opted to do a First Look with her bridesmaids, something I think adds a layer of depth to your photos and heartfelt moments to your day. Ryan and his groomsmen also had a ton of fun playing music, drinking, and hanging out on the dock. Ryan’s dad even had his boat parked out on the water!

Brittland Manor Wedding in Chestertown, Maryland

Ryan and Chelsea opted to share a First Look together in front of the Estate. It was a private and intimate moment that made for the beautiful start to the celebration of their marriage. After their First Look, we were able to do bridal party photos in no rush, and Chelsea’s dad walked up which made for a sweet impromptu First Look with her dad, too! Guests arrived and they said their vows under the most precious Oak tree. Guests watched and were captured with emotion as Chelsea and Ryan recited their own handwritten vows. Some of my favorite parts of this wedding were: Chelsea walking into the ceremony with her dad, and the cocktail hour which was surrounding the pool!  Being near water actually made for the best lighting! For their reception, they had it tented with lots of attention to detail and a vibrant floral component that really brought the space together. I am so honored to have played a part in telling this love story that is just getting started!

Pinstripes Wedding DC: Renee and Jay met on New Years Day in 2015. They have mutual friends from college and that holiday, they rented a cabin in Deep Creek, Maryland to go skiing. Jay asked Renee out and for their first date, he to her to a cooking class in DC where they drank nice wine and champagne. Renee says their first date was the best date ever and something she will always remember.

Fast forward and they got engaged in Paris. Their first night exploring Paris was their extravagant night so they got all dressed up and hit the town. They went to a 3-Star Michelin restaurant for dinner and then walked to the Eiffel Tower. The weather had been on/off raining so there weren’t a lot of people there. They walked over to Trocadero for a better view and when they got to the top of the stairs, Jay made eye contact with a violinist who started playing their song (Love by Nat King Cole). After they danced to that song, Jay got down on one knee and popped the question! The little crowd that formed started cheering and then a photographer came out of nowhere and they did a photoshoot at the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre.

They planned to have a big wedding in 2020 with all of their families and friends, but 2020 had other plans for them. Not wanting to wait any longer to get married, Jay and Renee decided to scooter to the bowling alley where they frequently hang out, and say their vows to each other there. They are planning a big wedding reception in 2021 with friends and family, as well as a honeymoon trip to South Africa.

I am so excited to share this Salamander Resort wedding with you! Ghadeer and Eric got married on a cozy morning in Middleburg, Virginia at sunrise. They booked the most classic and gorgeous suite to get ready in. Ghadeer had her hair and makeup done professionally in the suite, while Eric went downstairs on a coffee run, read the newspaper, and then put his suit and tie on in the living room. What I love about the Salamander Resort is that their suites are huge and have enough space to get a lot of variety in the photos! While Ghadeer got ready, we photographed the dress, perfume, and all the jewelry using the soft light coming through the windows before the sun came up. We then had Eric step onto the front porch for their first look.

Ghadeer came out onto the balcony, tapped Eric on the shoulder, and the emotion captured us all. They spent a few moments chatting amongst themselves, complimenting each other, and feeling so much joy and peace in this moment that was just about the two of them. Once they were ready, we walking down and outside onto the lawn with their officiant, where we captured their ceremony. After they exchanged their vows and rings, we walked around the venue for different poses and angles. Ghadeer wore the most beautiful fur, and it added so much style and dimension to their photos! I always recommend fur for winter weddings, it never fails to make for a cozy, warm, and timeless look!

The Salamander is one of our favorite venues for weddings because of the ample amount of light that comes in through the suites, as well as the variety we are able to get by walking around the lawn. One of my favorite spots to actually use for photos are the balconies connected to the suites, and the study downstairs. Both make for the perfect backdrop for timeless and classic images that keep you focused on the story in front of you.

Ariell and Mark are married and their gorgeous fall Athenaeum Alexandria Wedding wedding was classic, stylish, and full of love. As two people who met and have spent more of their relationship in Northern Virginia and DC, the Athenaeum was a great pick for their wedding venue. This gallery building is historic (which they both loved) and accommodated their intimate wedding day perfectly.

Both Ariell and Mark got ready for their Alexandria wedding day at the George of Old Town. Ariell and her girls had the most gorgeous pale green robes to prepare in. They were so excited to be celebrating Ariell all morning! After Ariell got into her gorgeous trumpeted wedding gown, she met Mark for a first look by the fireplace. The emotion in the air between them both was palpable as they showed off their wedding attire and enjoyed a few quiet moments together. Seriously, one reason I love first looks is just the chance for my couples to have a moment ALONE on their wedding day!

When they were ready to go back to their wedding party, we headed out to the historic cobblestone streets for their portraits with the bridesmaids and groomsmen. It was a GREAT spot for some truly old town feeling portraits. I can’t get enough of them! Not long after, we headed to the Athenaeum for their outdoor ceremony. With COVID hovering over the entire day, I know that Ariell and Mark felt a little worried about how their day would feel to their guests. But, I think the worries were for no reason. Everyone had a great time celebrating Ariell and Mark as they said “I do”. When their ceremony was complete, they had a small reception inside the Athenaeum.

Congratulations again, Ariell and Mark. Your Athenaeum wedding was classic from start to finish. I LOVED the fall colors you picked and your beautiful garden ceremony. Your love story is SO special and I’m thrilled I could be there with you to celebrate.

I am so excited to share some of Katherine and Adam’s Meridian House Wedding Photos with you! They had a beautiful and romantic ceremony at All Souls Episcopal Church in D.C. , followed by the most gorgeous of receptions at The Meridian House. We started the day with getting ready at a nearby salon with Katherine, and then we went to a nearby hotel to document Adam getting ready, too. At the Meridian House, we put together the most perfect First Looks in the garden. Katherine was the most beautiful of brides I have ever seen. Their ceremony was traditional, classic, and heart warming. We took family photos and then the reception began with cocktail hour and pictures in the garden. I love that the Meridian House has so many different backdrops for photos, each room almost looks like it’s in a different place.

The evening ended with one of my favorite things you can add to a wedding – a live band. The entire wedding party, family, and friends were on the dance floor. I loved watching these two party and seeing their connection from across the room. Congratulations you two!!

Jasmine and Zach’s Potomac Point Winery wedding was the most beautiful of weddings and I am so excited to share a few snippets of their special day with you. It all began with Jasmine getting ready in the bridal suite at Potomac Point, which had quite a few rooms. Her girls were making mimosas and getting their hair and makeup done and having the best time while listening to music! The energy in the room was infectious, and I just bounced around for awhile getting the best candids. Meanwhile, Zach was getting ready downstairs in the wine cellar with his groomsmen. The space down there made for an intimate setting and the guys were drinking bottles of wine and chatting while waiting for the day to get started.

Potomac Point Winery Wedding in Stafford, Virginia

Jasmine and Zach chose a special spot for their First Look at the winery -in front of the doors to the wine cellar. This made for a beautiful tuscan inspired background for their First Look. Jasmine came down the long stairwell, and walked across the concrete pour to her husband to be. Zach’s reaction was everything every bride wants from her groom on the wedding day. We documented this as quietly as possible, trying to give these two all the time in the world to soak up their precious moment. We then took lots of bride and groom portraits and bridal party portraits. My favorite part of their wedding was their personal vows at the ceremony, though. Jasmine spoke of her ideas about love what forever engraved in the hearts of guests and I teared up myself documenting her words. Zach is everything to Jasmine, and Jasmine is everything to Zach. Their love is undeniable, and this start to their marriage was nothing shy of beautiful. I am so grateful to have been part of this special day, and wish the best for you two- Zach and Jasmine.

Congratulations to Jessica and Ugur, it was a pleasure documenting your wedding and I am so exciting to share these Tabrizi’s wedding photos with you! These two love birds started the day by getting ready at a nearby hotel, Hotel Sonesta Baltimore, in Baltimore. Jessica and all the girls hung out in one room while they got their hair and makeup done, and Ugur and his son and all the guys were in their own room. Ugur decided to gift Jessica the sweetest of gifts. He bought her a jewelry box and wrote inside it “I loved you then, I love you still, always have, always will”. My favorite part of the day was Jessica opening up the box and reading Ugur’s sweet note.

After they finished getting ready we headed to Tabrizi’s. Tabrizi’s is a absolutely gorgeous venue and is actually on the water. I was able to get there early enough to document the boats on the water, and all of the florals. The ceremony was breathtaking -especially the white floral arbor that absolutely took your breath away. During the ceremony, Ugur and Jessica brought out red roses to gift to each of their parents, and it was so sweet.

The evening ended with a live band, heartfelt speeches, the kids choreographed a special dance, then there was cake, and more all in celebration of their unique and endless love. Congratulations you two!
