As a wedding photographer and past bride myself, I know exactly how it feels to be in your shoes. You are planning a very important day, and have only 1000 big and small decisions to make. It can all become very overwhelming very easily. As a wedding photographer, I want to step in and help you. Planning your wedding day based on LIGHT and photography can be a huge guiding factor in easing a lot of these decisions. My number one priority is that you never feel rushed, and that you are comfortable in front of the camera. I have created a process to get us there and would love to share it with you.

8 years ago I photographed a wedding for a friend on emergency notice and quite literally found my dream career overnight.
They say when "you know" you know, and I think that is true. "But there are so many things to photograph", so why do I have a passion for weddings?
I believe the greatest gift we have in life is our capacity to love one another. I believe in marriage, and I believe that finding the person you want to commit the rest of your life to is an extraordinary thing. Relationships and human connection is really what life is all about and it becomes all the more prevalent on a wedding day.
And so I dedicate my life to documenting that special for others.
I believe good work can remind you of how you felt, but great work, and what I strive to create -will show you things you didn’t see the first time, and that the quality will last the test of time. That is my hope for your photo gallery and video, that is what I hope to create for you to hold onto forever.

My parents had an Italian restaurant, 'Samia's', named after me -even though we are not Italian, we are actually Lebanese- in Gainesville, Virginia.
It is what taught me the value and importance of relationships, and that creme brûlée and Dean Martin are some of the best things in the world.

I believe I was born to be a wedding photographer
When I was younger I wanted to be an architect. I have always been fascinated by the idea of things lasting forever.
It turns out that photography is actually a lot like architecture, just at a faster pace. I am specifically drawn to historic homes and estates.
My work is deeply inspired by architecture.
I met my husband in Kindergarden. Omar is a full time accountant and does NOT like pictures. He makes my lunch on wedding days and is a professional peanut butter sandwich maker at this point.
You can always find him at home, in sweatpants, playing Xbox. He has taught me what love is, and his calm nature keeps me grounded.

The one thing we hear time and time again from couples getting married is the importance of candid work on their wedding day. Candid refers to uninterrupted, raw emotion. What is sometimes overlooked is the difficulty of this when you hire a photo vendor separate from your video vendor -it impacts both parties. That is why we offer video as an add on. Together, Megan and I work like clockwork, we each know what the other needs. You never have to do anything twice, and you are only guided by one lead. This protects the authenticity of your wedding, and ensures you are getting both photo and video but it does not feel like a production or a photoshoot.
