Alexandra and Brian’s Hay Adams wedding was one of my favorite weddings to date. I had the pleasure of photographing this wedding by stepping in for my sweet friend Savannah with Savannah Brown Photography. We started the day at the Hay Adams hotel with details and hair and makeup. Brian wrote the sweetest letter for Alexandra to read. What I love about the Hay Adams is how much light actually comes into the suites, which makes it the perfect opportunity for great photos! Alexandra got her hair and makeup done in the living room area, and then put her dress on with her mom and sister in the bedroom. Alexandra’s dad then joined us for what would become the sweetest father-daughter first look I have witnessed to date. What I loved about Alexandra and Brian’s wedding was the amount of though they put into making every detail sentimentally significant, and meaningful. Their details honored family members who could not be with us, while also carrying on family traditions and legacy.
After the father-daughter first look we went up onto the rooftop for Brian and Alexandra’s First Look. Alexandra’s veil blowing in the wind made for most beautiful motion and dimension in their photos. The two shared a few moments together before we took the bridal party out to Lafayette square for photos. We then headed to the church for a traditional ceremony, and then took a bus back to the Hay Adams for the reception. The wedding reception was classic, timeless, and the evening was full of surprises. Many guests gave heartfelt speeches, and we even had a live band to top off the evening!
I am so grateful for this opportunity to document such a special time in Alexandra and Brian’s life, and for the vendor team that brought this together.
