Day in the Life of a Wedding Photographer: Editing, Calls, Networking

Running a wedding photography business is a unique blend of creativity, organization, and connection. In this blog, I’ll take you through an updated “Day in the Life of a Wedding Photographer: Editing, Calls, Networking” to share what it’s really like behind the lens—and behind the desk!

Morning Mindset: Setting the Tone

I love starting my mornings with a calm and focused mindset. Instead of diving straight into emails, I spend time reading and journaling. This week, I’ve been enjoying Secrets of the Millionaire Mind—a great reminder to focus on abundance and positivity before tackling a busy day.

“Starting the day with intention keeps me grounded and ready to take on the rest of the day’s challenges.”

Content Creation & Admin Tasks

As a wedding photographer, content creation is a big part of my day. I filmed a YouTube video on how I use AI tools like ChatGPT for writing blogs and Instagram captions. After filming, I switched to managing emails, confirming shoot locations, and planning fall mini-sessions. Tools like HoneyBook help me keep everything organized and running smoothly.

Afternoon: Client Calls & Inquiries

Client communication is key to success in the wedding photography business. I had a couple of inquiries come in during the day and scheduled formal consultation calls to discuss their visions. Pro tip: Always have a system in place to handle incoming leads quickly and professionally!

“Every inquiry is an opportunity to build trust and showcase your expertise.”

Evening: Networking & Inspiration

The day wrapped up with a fun networking event in DC. Events like these are perfect for connecting with other creatives and finding inspiration outside of weddings. Plus, it’s a great excuse to dress up and get out of the office for a bit!
