This Fairmont DC Wedding wedding is a very special wedding that is near and dear to my heart. Elaine and Jared were referred to me through a mutual friend of hours, and from the moment we began talking, I knew we would be great friends. What I love most about Elaine and Jared is that they took their time planning their day and picking their vendors, and made it very unique and special to them.
A few months before the wedding, Elaine and I got to meet for lunch at The Fairmont Hotel. We walked around the venue and discussed picture ideas for photos. I loved how unique and modern the hotel decor is. The decor is very elegant and creative, while not being distracting for photo backgrounds. Our visit made me 10x more excited to be the one getting to photograph their wedding!
The day of the wedding, I got to the hotel super early to pick out which of the 1000 amazing spots that were available for the First Look. Once I found the perfect spot, I went up to Elaine’s room and gave her a big hug and say hi! The girls were drinking coffee, Mariana was curling their hair and doing their makeup, everyone was relaxing. Elaine and Jared had done such an amazing job at preparing their timeline for the day, that getting ready was a relaxed and peaceful environment, which is so so important. My assistant, Omar, and I took Elaine’s dress down to the lobby to photograph it where all the guests and lobby staff watched us and complimented how amazing her dress was! I photographed the rest of her details, her getting ready, and then went to Jared’s room to photograph him getting ready too.
Next we did their First Look, which was one of my favorites to date. I went to photograph the ceremony space once it was ready, and the floral work, designed and created by Maryam Flowers, was absolutely breathtaking.
Having a Jewish ceremony was something very important to Jared and Elaine, and it was beautiful to watch them share something so special together. After the ceremony they had a BRUNCH reception which was amazing and something I am going to recommend all of my couples do! They did this by having all the guests sit at tables in the center of the space, with a bunch of surrounding food stations. This was so great because the guests had an array of options for food, and because you would be visiting different stations, it was a great way to get the family members and friends to mingle together. Everyone ate, danced, and celebrated!
Thank you Elaine and Jared, for trusting me with this special job. I can’t wait to see all the photos in your new home, and to document your family for years to come.
