Elma and John’s Herrington on the Bay Wedding Photos are almost as beautiful as their love for one another. Elma and John actually met playing basketball for college. They went to the same nursing school, and for their first date they decided to meet up after a separately attending a couple of parties. John ask Elma if she as up for going to the beach on a late night adventure, and at 3am they hopped on hopped on a ferry to cross the island and went to a beautiful beach and went stargazing by the shore. Then they went to the waterfalls, drank a bottle of beer and shortly after sunrise went for a dip in the falls with their party clothes on! Fast forward to today and John and Elma are both nurses, when they are not working they like to watch movies, go on roadtrips, eat out, try different coffee/boba places. The beach is important to them, and so they chose the most perfect venue. They just had the most beautiful, timeless and classic of weddings on the beach at Herrington on the Bay.
The day started with Elma getting ready at an airbnb nearby Herrington on the Bay, the Airbnb had the most gorgeous of sunlight and I would recommend it to anyone getting married anywhere nearby. We started with Elma getting her hair and makeup done upstairs in the room with a little bit of quiet time to herself, while I photographed her details in a separate room and got a few candids. John was at a seperate hotel with him mom and groomsmen also getting ready. We all met at Herrington and headed out onto the beach for the most tear jerking of First Looks to date. Elma walked up to John in the sand and he turned around and they shared the most special of moments. We walked on the shore for a bit and took a lot of portraits. What is great about taking photos at Herrington on the Bay is that no matter what time of day, the light is great because of the water reflecting nearby. There was a bit of overcast but the rain held out for their portraits and their ceremony. After their First Look, we were able to get lots of bridal party photos on the beach and then got ready for their ceremony. Their ceremony was gorgeous, followed by an enough more gorgeous reception. The reception decor had lots of height which photographed beautifully and the color scheme made for the most timeless of Herrington on the Bay wedding photos too. One of the best parts of Elma and John’s reception were the heartfelt speeches by many friends and family members that spoke about their love and connection. The night ended with a downpour thunderstorm outside, and all smiles and packed dance floor inside.
